Our 4 Part dSLR + mirrorless series is designed to take the basic, amateur photographer, out of their comfort zone of “Full Auto” and give them the tools and understanding of Exposure Control, White Balance, File Formats, Lens Options, Flash Photography, Composition and much more.
“Exposure”
A crucial way in which your camera operates is how it reads the light in a scene that you want to capture. Back in the old days of photography, photographers would carry a separate instrument called a light meter to read light, now these are inside our cameras and make reading light much easier. There are a few different types of modes that your camera offers that will assist in how to read the light in a scene. There’s matrix metering, center weighted and spot metering. These modes are great and useful for different types of photography. We will also cover exposure compensation, auto exposure lock, using mid-tones and HDR. With a little nudge in the right direction, you’ll be able to read light like a tried and true photog.
This class will offer a hands on approach to the above mentioned topics. There will be time for group discussion and Q&A that will offer great tips for getting started in the right direction. The atmosphere of our classroom is relaxed and inviting… we’re all in this journey together to achieve great and memorable photographs.
After this class we invite you to take part in : “Control” and “Composition”
*Please note that this class is NOT for point-and-shoot cameras.
