Our 4 Part dSLR + mirror-less series is designed to take the basic, amateur photographer, out of their comfort zone of “Full Auto” and give them the tools and understanding of Exposure Control, White Balance, File Formats, Lens Options, Flash Photography, Composition and much more.
“Composition”
What separates a snap-shot from a great photograph is composition. Composition meaning, choosing where to put subjects in your photo, in relation to other things in that photo that will gather your viewers attention and draw them in to the story behind your image. Instead of putting a subject directly in the center of the frame, try putting it off to one side for a more engaging composition. This is just one of the many skills you’ll be exposed to (pardon the pun) in this final class.
Along with properly composing your photograph, we’ll cover the Kelvin Scale. Wait, who’s Kelvin? You’ll find out, but we’ll show you how different light sources emit different color temperatures and how to best setup your camera to capture that type of light. We’ll also touch on RAW vs. JPG and how to clean up the color in Adobe Lightroom.
This class will offer a hands on approach to navigating the menu and buttons on your camera. There will be time for group discussion and Q&A that will offer great tips for getting started in the right direction. The atmosphere of our classroom is relaxed and inviting… we’re all in this journey together to achieve great and memorable photographs.
